About

A Life at the Piano

Born in Chișinău, Moldova, Larisa Soboleva began her musical journey at the age of five. Her gift was evident early — she was accepted into the National Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts in Chișinău, where she studied under Inna Hatipova and Sergei Covalenco.

In 2008, she earned a full scholarship to Rowan University, studying with Professor Veda Zuponcic. She went on to earn two Master's Degrees in Piano Performance and a Doctorate in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Miami — a rare trifecta that grounds her teaching in both artistic mastery and pedagogical science.

Today, Dr. Soboleva runs Solaris Piano Studio in Holly, Michigan — a studio built on the belief that every student, regardless of age or level, deserves an approach tailored to their unique personality and musical aspirations.

Teaching Philosophy

Every Student, a Unique Voice

Dr. Soboleva believes that musical education is not a one-size-fits-all formula. Each student arrives with their own personality, goals, and relationship with music — and the teacher's role is to meet them there.

"I transfer my knowledge and enthusiasm to students of all ages, individually tailored to each personality's need."

— Dr. Larisa Soboleva

Her students are encouraged to participate in recitals and performance opportunities that build confidence, stage presence, and a lifelong love for music.
